The school year may be coming to an end but we want to remind you that there are many resources and supports still available for you. If you, or someone you know, is experiencing sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking there are programs available. Many offer advocacy and support that is free and confidential. They can provide you with information, resources, and referrals that will help you through the next steps towards seeking safety and healing. You are not alone – we are here for you.

Support Services
Through These Doors - Young Adult Abuse Prevention Program (YAAPP)
The education team of Through These Doors, the domestic violence resource center for Cumberland County, with 24/7, free & confidential services for people affected by domestic violence or dating abuse
Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine (SARSSM)
Provides free services 24/7 in York and Cumberland counties to anyone affected by sexual assault, sexual harassment, or sexual abuse, through prevention programs, support, education, and advocacy
The Opportunity Alliance Crisis Response Service
Crisis intervention and youth mental health services
Immigrant Resource Center of Maine
Support refugee and immigrant communities by offering culturally linguistically sensitive services, such as cultural brokers, interpreters, victim advocates, and post resettlement services
Preble Street Teen Center
Meets the urgent needs of homeless and runaway youth - providing warmth and safety, nutritious meals, clothing, crisis intervention, and overnight shelter
Prevention Action Change
Workshops for students to gain increased awareness of safety issues, new verbal and physical skills in boundary setting, assertive communication and intervention to prevent, interrupt, and respond to harassment, assault, and abuse for themselves and others

Equality Maine
Offering youth led drop in groups (virtual and in person) for young LGBTQ+ people, as well as opportunities for young people to engage directly in service, leadership and advocacy
Pine Tree Legal
Provides free civil legal aid in cases where it can make a difference in one’s ability to meet one’s basic human needs or in enforcing one’s basic human rights, including access to housing, food, income, safety, education, and healthcare
Maine Boys To Men
Works to reduce interpersonal violence, specifically male violence against women and girls, and support the development of emotionally fluent, civically-engaged boys
Hardy Girls Healthy Women
Empowering girls with knowledge, critical thinking skills, and a platform to drive social change since 2000 changing the culture, not fixing the girl
