Metro passes

Riding the Bus

All Deering High students get a bus pass that is free for them to use on local Portland Metro buses. You don't need to buy tickets!

This year, the bus pass is an app on your phone that you tap when you get on the bus. This means you don't have to worry about losing it anymore!

You'll need to turn in your form and create an account in order to activate your pass, so make sure you follow the steps below.
How to get a bus pass
  1. Read the passenger policies
  2. Read the safety procedure.
  3. Download the "touchpass transit" app from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store
  4. Create an account using your school email and ID as your username.
After downloading the app, you'll need to create an account. Select "I don't have a card."  Your username must be your Student ID. Your email must be your school email or we will not be able to find and activate your account.

If you don't have a phone or if you lose your phone or pass

If you don't have a phone, please visit the guidance office to receive a bus pass card. Just like the bus pass on your phone, the card is attached to your student ID. You can not have a card and the app at the same time.

If you had a pass on your phone and want to switch to the card, let us know. If you had a card and want to switch to your phone, let us know.

If you lose your card, please ask the guidance office for a new one.

If you've never ridden the bus before, check out the how to information  from Metro. You can always visit their website for more information and a trip planner!
