• DHS Mentoring is a student-led, student-centered program where
Deering seniors are mentors for Deering freshman. The goals of theprogram are applied leadership and educational engagement.
• We recognize seniors as a valuable educational resource and as
mentors they use their knowledge and experience to help freshmen
navigate and balance their time to gain the most from their education
at Deering
• For freshmen DHSMentoring is a fun way to engage in the DHS
community, explore educational opportunities, build their extracurric-
ular profile, and get academic help as needed from their senior men-tor
• Each senior is matched individually with a freshman based on acad-
emic and extra-curricular interests and experience
• Mentoring pairs meet once a week throughout the school year during
WINN or another agreed upon time
• Each mentoring relationship is unique and how each pair uses their
time together is determined by student need and interest
• Our Mentoring Coordinator, Roy Chatterjee, works with each pair
throughout the year to provide guidance and give advice as needed.
