Welcoming the Class of 2030: 9th Grade Back-To-School Night Highlights

On Wednesday, August 26, the school community gathered to welcome the incoming Class of 2030 during the 9th Grade Back-To-School Night. The evening kicked off in the main hall, where families were greeted by administration, support staff, and counselors before heading into the auditorium for opening presentation slides led by Principal Aris Ayala Cruz, Assistant Principal Ilunga Mutombo, and Assistant Principal Carlie Fredrick. Following introductions from School Counseling Director Ms. Laurie Medeiros and the counseling team, Ms. Meghan Donnelly highlighted the importance of ninth grade and staying on track academically. Students then transitioned into advisory sessions with their advisors for a detailed review of daily schedules, schedule troubleshooting, and a Q&A session, capped off by an interactive Family Circle where students and families shared their hopes and thoughts for the upcoming year. Groups were paged throughout the advisory period to collect their laptops before taking a brief campus tour on their way to the back patio, where the FTO hosted an ice cream social alongside information tables for fall sports and co-curricular clubs.

For students unable to attend Wednesday's event to pick up their schedule and laptop, schedules will be available on Monday morning, August 31, with laptop distribution following shortly after.
