Seeing Innovation Up Close: Deering Prioritizes Real-World Learning at the University of Maine

Students in Jonathan Graffius's class recently had a fabulous field trip to the University of Maine (UMO). The visit was an unforgettable day of experiential learning: students toured a 3D-printed house, tried out Virtual Reality headsets, connected with current UMO graduates, and explored the engineering and fabrication departments to see the world’s largest 3D printer. Deering staff prioritize creating opportunities that allow students to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications, peaking their curiosity in places of higher education and within the community. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible, and a special thanks to Tyler Technologies for sponsoring the trip.
