On a beautiful sunny afternoon at Deering High School, the spirit of inclusion and camaraderie was on full display as students from the Functional Life Skills (FLS) program and the broader Special Education department joined their peers on the back patio for a friendly game of Unified CornHole. Supported by a team of teachers, staff, and student club members, the event was a shining example of Deering's enjoyment of Unified Athletics, which brings together students of all abilities. High-fives were exchanged and friendly cheers echoed across the patio, leaving no doubt that strong connections were being built within the Deering community. For students looking to be part of an uplifting and rewarding experience, this is a great club to join in the coming school year. If you are interested in participating, please reach out to a teacher or staff member to learn more.
