Deering High School's Prism Co-curricular club recently embarked on an enriching field trip to the University of Southern Maine (USM), an opportunity stemming from the participation of teachers Reva Eifferman and Dr. Talya Davis, along with students, in the Safer Schools Conference. During their time at USM, students engaged in valuable educational workshops covering diverse topics such as history, art, and facilitation skills, all geared towards youth interests, and reported having a great time. This successful trip underscores the importance Deering places on inclusion, providing supportive spaces like the Prism club for students. Furthermore, Prism is just one example of the wide variety of co-curricular clubs offered at Deering, ensuring that students with diverse interests and backgrounds can find a community, engage in meaningful experiences, and belong.
