Preparing for April 16: Assessment Schedule and Student Readiness.

On Thursday, April 16, students at the high school will follow a modified bell schedule to accommodate several standardized assessments. The day begins with a brief advisory period from 8:20 AM to 8:35 AM, leading into the primary testing and activity block from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. During this time, 10th-grade students will complete the NWEA Reading assessment and 11th-grade students will take the MEA Science exam, while 9th graders remain in advisory and 12th graders attend a workshop hosted by their school counselors. To prepare for a successful morning, students are encouraged to get a full night’s rest on Wednesday evening and prioritize a good breakfast before testing begins. Breakfast is available for free on campus for any student.

Following the testing block, the school will transition into a condensed academic schedule starting with Block 1 at 10:05 AM. Lunch is scheduled for 11:05 AM, followed by Blocks  2, 3, and 4 to conclude the afternoon. All students should arrive with their Chromebooks fully charged and reach out to their advisors if they have any questions about their specific testing locations or the expectations for the day.
