Mid-December brought a dose of poetic inspiration to Deering High School! Acclaimed local poet Meghan Sterling, known for her captivating and accessible verse, graced our campus thanks to the efforts of our part-time school librarian, Shana Genre, and BRECCIA advisor, and staff member Ms. Tracey Menard. Sterling, a former English teacher, enthralled students with her powerful words, exploring themes ranging from environmental issues and social justice to the complexities of family relationships. This inspiring event, held during library and Learning Center time, gave students a unique opportunity to experience a live poetry reading by a published author. Witnessing the power of language firsthand, right here on campus, was truly a special treat for all.
