Deering High School's Youth & Government club attended the annual conference in Augusta the week of November 11th. Students participated in a variety of roles, including Representative, Senator, Governor's Cabinet member, and journalist. They engaged in committee work, bill review, and floor debates.

The conference provided students with the opportunity to meet Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, Attorney General Aaron Frey, and Governor Janet Mills. Additionally, Senior Eli Tuchinsky was recognized as Best Statesman, and Sophomore Safa Mohamed was sworn in as a future Supreme Court Justice.
