Everything You Need to Know for Graduation 2026

Hello Class of 2026 and graduating families,

I am writing the first of several communications regarding senior events this Spring. Below is a quick glance at some important dates:

  • Friday, May 1st, Capstone Day 25
  • Thursday, May 28th @6pm Senior Awards
  • Friday, May 29th, Last Day for Seniors, First Graduation Practice 11:30 am Gym
  • Tuesday, June 2nd, Full Graduation Rehearsal, 9 am Portland High School Gym
  • Thursday, June 4th Graduation 11 am, Merrill Auditorium
  • Thursday, June 4th-5th Project Graduation

Students will be picking up their Cap and Gowns at our first graduation practice on the 29th of May. On this day, students need to bring $30 cash, check, or credit card to pay for their Cap and Gown.

Students will each receive 7 tickets to graduation this year. Merrill Auditorium insists that every person, regardless of age, has a paper ticket. This means babies and toddlers who may be sitting in your lap need a ticket. It also means that you will not be admitted to graduation with a photo of a ticket. If you have a family member who needs mobility-friendly seating, please email Ms Sawyer (sawyeh@portlandschools.org) with your request.

Several students have yet to reach out to their advisor about their Capstones. All seniors must present a capstone project to their advisory in order to walk in graduation. If you are one of these students, please come to Advisory or Learning Center to connect with your advisor ASAP.
