This year, the Deering STEM lab received a significant boost thanks to the generosity of Dave and Sandy Perloff's Maine-based foundation. Their donation of a new 3D printer and extensive equipment has ignited a an innovative move within our science department. During a visit before February break, the Perloffs toured the lab and connected with one of our STEM lab science teacher, Ms. Heather Sawyer. Ms. Sawyer's excitement was palpable as she discussed her vision for leveraging these new resources to enhance STEM education, eager to continually build upon the lab's capabilities semester after semester. What the Perloffs did – giving us that 3D printer and all the gear – it really changes what we can do in the STEM lab. It's not just about the equipment, it's about seeing that kind of support for our students' learning. We look forward to showcasing the incredible student projects that will emerge from this partnership. Stay tuned for updates on student work and the continued growth of our vibrant STEM lab.
