Deering High School hosted an unforgettable event, welcoming His Excellency Mr. Laurent Bili, Ambassador of France to the United States, along with distinguished ambassadors from the Central African Republic and Gabon. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity allowed our students to engage directly with high-level diplomats, ask insightful questions, and share their passion for the French language and culture. Our brilliant students also shared their experiences and perspectives, making this a truly memorable day for everyone involved.
The event also featured inspiring speeches by Dr. Jake Giessman, Dr. Abdullahi Ahmed, and Dr. Ryan Scallon,

along with several other members of Portland Public Schools and the Maine State Department of Education.
