Deering Dominates: Back-to-Back State Titles at Maine Model UN

Deering had another hugely successful trip to the Maine Model United Nations conference at USM. With a team of 47 delegates, we again had the largest delegation in the state. Students debated a variety of topics, including Clean Water, Right to Asylum, Trade Wars, and Improving Farmers' Livelihoods. In their respective committees, Clementine Enright, Zach Lee, Ellis Retzer, Noah Rasheed, and Margo Bean were named Honorable Mention Delegates. Avery Stone was named Distinguished Delegate. For the second year in a row, Deering’s won Best Large Delegation. This is basically back-to-back State Champs of Maine Model UN! This delegation for the Democratic Republic of Congo consisted of Jack Borland, Charlie Dibble, Ryan Roarty, Noah Rasheed, and Ellis Retzer. There are many more who challenged themselves and grew over the 3-day conference.
