The overall atmosphere was one of excitement, signifying the culmination of the students' time at Deering and their journey towards new beginnings. Yearbook club members, many of them graduating seniors, revealed and sold the 150th edition of the yearbook, while also juggling finals, other club duties, and graduation preparations.
The week ended with Deering's first graduation practice in the gymnasium, allowing graduates to finalize their time at the school. Staff facilitated various tasks: Ms. Sawyer and a team distributed graduation attire. Mr. Cain collected laptops and addressed any tech concerns. Ms. Shmitt registered students to vote. School counselors and social workers provided support. Project Graduation volunteers accepted last-minute sign-ups.
Students were excited for their futures, and staff mirrored that enthusiasm. Deering is more than just a school; it's a close-knit community, ensuring that our graduates leave equipped with an exceptional education. We sent the class of 2024 off into their future ready.
