Congratulations to Deering High School for securing over $9,000 in grant funding to support a diverse array of teams, clubs, and initiatives at DHS. These grants, awarded by the Foundation for Portland Public Schools, will benefit the Butterfly Sanctuary (led by Kristina Catomeris), Clay for All (Chad Hart), Cross Country Skiing for Newcomers (Lucy Sommo), Innovation Lab (Jonathan Graffius), LatinX Club (Sarah Shoemaker), Model UN Equity Scholarship Fund (Tyler Jellison), School Hallway Benches (Joseph Foley), Science Olympiad (Cyle Davenport), Shadow Puppets on the Digital Stage (Kathryn Carlisle), Weight Room (Anais Aguirre), and Youth and Government Delegation (Krista Simonis). We're thrilled to witness the positive impact these grants will have on the students, staff, and advisors of DHS and eagerly anticipate the enhancements they will bring to our school community.
