School Counseling
The school counselors develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program which helps students in three main areas: social and emotional development, academic success, and college and career readiness. School counselors provide short-term counseling for issues that get in the way of student success. School counselors also meet with students to discuss course planning at Deering and planning for the future. Here at Deering, school counselors work with students individually, in small groups, and sometimes teach in classrooms. Students are welcome to drop in to the School Counseling Office or make an appointment to meet with their school counselor.
A note from The Counseling Team
Hello Deering High School Students and Families,
We are excited for a great year and wanted to provide an update on some changes in the School Counseling office.
You might notice a few new faces this year. This year, we've organized counselor assignments by grade level and the first letter of each student's last name to ensure a balanced caseload and provide more focused support. You can now see your assigned counselor in Infinite Campus
Please note that Aley Watts is still out on leave.
In the meantime, the rest of our team is working together to ensure every student has the support they need.
We encourage you to reach out to the counseling office with any questions.
We're looking forward to a fantastic year ahead and are here to help you succeed!
